A Brief History
The Tailors’ Guild of the city receives special privileges. Hermannstadt (Sibiu) becomes an important center for the production of garments, a tradition carried over the ages.
The Red Star is set up with 380 employees. The work system is artisan-based and the productivity is small while the assortment is made up of military uniforms only.
New, modern, electric motor-powered sewing machines are being purchased from the GFG and the US. All manual operations are abolished and the final ironing is executed with Italian and English steam production presses.
The number of employees reaches 2500 and over 40% of production is intended for export.
The “Red Star” is reorganized into 3 companies with full state capital (Sib I, II and III).
Confectia Sib III becomes S.C. “Euroconf” S.A., a name inspired by the external market on which it was running its products. Euroconf takes 650 of the old employees organized into 4 production lines that produce sports clothes.
Two new production lines for trousers are set up. Euroconf expands through the commissioning of a new production hall with 110 employees.
The company is privatised with a total of 900 employees and 332 shareholders. The sports clothing lines are expanded and four new lines are created.
An association agreement with Steilmann is signed for an 8-year period. Euroconf is now using state-of-the-art machines brought from Germany, in part the property of Euroconf and in part of Steilmann. The production of male blazers for export to Germany is started.
Euroconf starts a collaboration with the company Miltenberg.
Euroconf signs contracts with Schuller and Grote.
The company is creating products for Odermark.
Euroconf is starting collaborations with Interbel and Alberto.
The newly released brand Paolo Rossi enjoys a great success, demonstrating the company’s creative capacity and production possibilities according to the most exclusive standards.
Euroconf obtains the Quality Management certificate EN ISO 9001:2000.
